High School Cafeteria Project underway by District Buildings and Grounds Department, by Brad Eavenson
In 2011 the Granite City School District Board of Education sold working cash bonds to be used for building upgrades throughout the district. Among the improvements were major décor changes to all elementary schools, a new boiler system for the cafeteria at the High School, parking lot improvements including a new parking lot and driveway at Grigsby and several roofing projects.

Another GCHS Building Trades House up for Sale!, by Cindy Gagich
On a warm Monday evening, June 8th, a few dozen people took advantage of getting a close-up look at the quality work of some of the high school vocational students as they walked through the recently completed Vocational Building Trades House in the Donnalynne Legacy Subdivision at 4808 Karen Drive. They admired the students' craftsmanship of this 3-bedroom, 2-bath, 1900 square foot house. It's a brick combo ranch with a 3-car garage. It features hardwood flooring in the main living area, ceramic tile in the bathrooms and laundry room, a covered patio, gas fireplace with marble surround, and plenty of ceiling fans.
