Huye Lee Martin “Duck” Paul, 83, died Saturday, September 1, 2007 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
He was born March 9, 1924 in Granite City, a son of the late Luther and Florence Belle (Reeves) Paul. He married Geneva Ruth (Miles) Paul and she preceded him in death.
He retired in 1985 from Nickel Plate Railroad after 43 years of dedicated service as a clerk. He also worked for Paul Seebold Concrete for 17 years as a driver. He enjoyed his days of hunting and fishing and had a special love of John Deere Tractors. He will be remembered for the love to his family and children.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda Lee and Stanley Bula of Granite City; one son and daughter-in-law, Danny Lee and Betty Paul of Granite City; grandchildren, Shameem Clement of Collinsville, Stephanie Coe of Granite City, Stephen Lee Paul of Granite City; step grandchildren, Dean and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Scout Kaitln-Lee Clement, Steele Clement; step great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Anthony Joseph; one brother, Albert Paul of Granite City; three sisters, Delores Crenshaw of Granite City, Earlene Vaughan of Saugus, California, Darlene Smock of Granite City; other extended family and dear friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, two sisters, Francis Bogosian and Katheryn Seebold and three brothers, Luther, Alvin and Marion Paul, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 from 9 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, IL.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and may be accepted at the funeral home.
