THOMAS R. BEZAN, 85, of Granite City, Illinois died Friday, December 21, 2007 at his home. He was born July 30, 1922 in Madison, Illinois, a son of the late Francis and Francisca (Szelgovic) Bezan. He married Wilma Lorraine (Verba) Bezan on January 30, 1948 in Madison, Illinois. She preceded him in death on November 30, 2004. The United States Army sergeant veteran proudly served his country during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City. He enjoyed the outdoors and listening to country music, had a special interest in vintage cars and will be remembered for the love of his family and friends. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Debby Bezan of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Keith Lindsay-Conner of Chesterfield, Missouri and Michele and Howard Kagay of Gracelake, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Kelly, Alyssa, Alex, Jared, Kendall, Kenzie, Kennedy; two sisters, Ann Bicanic and Kay Nemeth both of Granite City; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Bezan of Michigan City, Indiana; nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. Besides his wife and parents, three brothers, Peter, Frank and Steve Bezan, preceded him in death. Visitation: Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, Illinois Sunday, December 23, 2007 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services: Irwin Chapel Monday, December 24, 2007 9:00 a.m. Fr. Gene Prendiville, Celebrant Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Edwardsville, IL. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and may be accepted at the funeral home.
