MARK A. LUCAS, 53, of Edwardsville, Illinois died Saturday, February 11, 2012 at his home. He was born February 4, 1959 in Highland, Illinois, a son of Gladdie (Houchins) Lucas of Pembroke, Virginia and the late James F. Lucas. He was the branch manager at Fleet Pride in St. Louis where he had over 5 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed his years of taxidermy and cherished his days of hunting and fishing. He was a dedicated coach for youth basketball for many years at the Y.M.C.A. in Edwardsville and the Rockwood School District in St. Louis. He had a passion for Southern Rock and Blues music and was known to be the family handyman on many occasions. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends. In addition to his mother, survivors include his beloved wife of 17 years, Karen Kelley, of Edwardsville; one daughter, Danielle C. Bolyard of Ballwin, MO. He was “Poppy” to Jared and Amber Smith and Camden and MaKenna Kelley and special family to Derek and Brady Kelley and Kerri and Mark Smith, all of Edwardsville; brother and sister-in-law, Damon L. and Terry Lucas of Clayton, CA; sister Vickie Keleher of Rupert, WV; loving niece and nephew, Lauren Christopher Keleher; other extended family and many friends. Visitation: Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road, Glen Carbon, IL on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 with Reverend Mike Brockmeier officiating. Burial: Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, IL. Memorials: Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead, Virginia or Calvary Baptist Church in Edwardsville, Illinois
